“Worthless” by Aaron Clarey now available in audiobook format
Worthless: The Young Person’s Indispensable Guide to Choosing the Right Major by Aaron Clarey is now available in audiobook format, voiced by myself. It’s an excellent work. I reviewed it when it first came out, back before the mainstream media had caught on to the education bubble, and even now – refreshing my memory as I recorded the audiobook version – it stands out as an extremely important work for any young person who’s about to graduate High School.
While the mainstream might have noticed the education bubble, detailed information – the information that guidance counsellors were supposed to give you – is still hard to come by. In Worthless Clarey gets down to brass tacks, explaining in excruciating details the differences between worthy and worthless degrees. Many of these come as a surprise – it’s not as cut-and-dried as “Just take something in STEM” – and he explains many of these bait-and-switch degrees, which sound like they’ll get you a job, but ultimately turn out to be as worthless as any Humanities Major.
The video that follows is my reading of the first chapter; if I do say so myself, I kept the narrative entertaining and light, compared to some of the snooze-fests that many audiobooks turn out to be (credit due to the author as well, for writing about boring old statistics in a fun manner); where appropriate I modified some of the language to explain in speech what was originally communicated through charty goodness.
You won’t be falling asleep at the wheel with this one. Buy “Worthless” on Amazon today.
Special thanks to Kate over at Small Dead Animals for mentioning it.

I laughed at the subheading of the title for the book.
I think the most worthy of degrees would be in philosophy, and liberal arts. But I wonder what Aaron Clarey has to say.
Nice snooze fest video by the way.
i’m just joking.
