Sunday History Lecture: The Growth of Islam
Pour yourself a coffee, and sit down to learn yourself some History from Dr Bill Warner this fine, Sunday morning.
91% violence, 9% peace. Honestly, this shocked even me.
Facts: I’m just a Fact Man.
File under “Religion of Peace.”
Will the Muslim hordes conquer the present west?
I can’t think Islam can conquer the West. It’s a primitive brutal religion because its main function was to keep under control impulsive people with no self-control. That’s why it has only appealed to people with little or no self-control. That doesn’t mean the West.
Islam is probably the closest thing to a perfect religious formalization of the basic cycles of upheaval that all civilized societies seem to experience. The same pattern would repeat itself in either externally directed jihads or internally directed uprisings against “decadent” (w/ or w/o scarequotes) Islamic governments: hordes of angry young men in the service of god that also just so happen to want to cut themselves a slice of the economic and sexual pie. This was the template that was set by Muhammad and has been repeated ever since.
The biggest problem really is not Islam qua Islam but that we aren’t Muslims so Islam is directed against us. They’re more than happy to subordinate us and the media is more than happy to provide a smothering blanket of propaganda to conceal it where possible and to otherwise rationalize it where it is not. But this sort of thing isn’t really any different from any other “oppressed” group. The problem isn’t that other groups are aggressive and opportunistic, it is that generally speaking we as a group won’t do likewise and to even attempt it would be to ignore that we now lack the basic social structure to even attempt it. I haven’t read TWOM but have probably read/heard well over dozen reviews and it appears to lay down the prerequisites.
Great video. Surprised to hear a lot of this.
Will: The West can surrender to Islam … but Islam cannot conquer the West on its own.
Ask any survivors of Imperial Japan how that “conquer the West” thing worked out.
Great video. All might not be gloomy for the West however. Regarding the “Islam will be the Communism of the 21st Century” from the Dalrymple forum, another point of view would say no because of the demographic collapse which not only the West but also Islam is experiencing. See “How Civilizations Die” by David Goldman. The takeover of Europe by Islamic immigrants is not assured.
Also, most believe that the Arab world has the West by the balls because of the dependence on oil. True that life would be difficult and expensive if Arab oil were cut off, but life would go on. Actually, it’s the West that has large parts of the Arab world by the balls because of food. North Africa and the Middle East have populations much larger than can be supported locally and these areas are very dependent on food imports from the West. The riots in Egypt because of the increase in the cost of bread was due to the uptick of world grain prices.
@Kristophr
Low white birth rates compounded with modernism has weakened the west to the onslaught of violent jihad and population replacement by arabs as well as the fact the the liberals are deliberately letting them into our countries.
Can Islam take over a Western country? An analogous question would be, can cockroaches take over a restaurant? I suppose they could, but then it’s no longer a restaurant, it’s a vacant building with a padlock and a notice from the health inspector on the door. Then the furnace runs out of fuel and the roaches all freeze to death.
Aurini, are you familiar with The Rage and The Pride, by Oriana Fallaci?

No, but I read “While Europe Slept: How Radical Islam is Destroying the West from Within” by Bruce Bawer, after he contacted me for a quote about the Peace Studies Department at McMaster.
Hmm… I might go through it again, and post a review. Read it years ago, but I recall it being a good book.
Wow. Great find, Aurini. The superior consistency of Dr. Warner’s interpretation to all others is evident. He is a historian. Academic certifications belong to the great satan.
It was obvious that he came down hard generalizing edge on the topic. But to cover such an enormous topic at that pace he needed to that. But those are just the pedantic complaints of a history buff.
Overall it illustrates quite powerfully the impacts of Islam on the West. But still I am hesitant to take it too literally.
Honestly, I have found your posts to be very insightful. However, this post in particular seems very shaky and I’m surprised you would post this here.
First off, this guy is attempting to extrapolate his own ideas of history based on “facts”. He has no formal education in such an art yet he insists that he is qualified to do so.
Next you will see a very offense approach that he has taken. Pay attention to his language: attack, invade, destroy, kill. It seems biased especially if you look at the broader picture.
Now let’s just zoom out for a bit: this guys main argument is that we are scared of Islam because of the history of Islam (the “true” one that no one has heard of). What?! How is this a coherent argument?
Anyhow, just felt like this was a very low quality link that may have been posted without much thought. Otherwise, I’m loving this blog!
