Triggering the Triggerable: Vaxx Mandate Edition

As I and many others have pointed out, you do not comply your way out of a democratic tyranny. We are currently suffering a mass hysteria, or a mass formation, as identified by Dr. Mattias Desmet, right before the onset of the pandemic, and as described by After Skool & Academy of Ideas in this video:

C.S. Lewis described the unrelenting horror of a tyranny performed “for one’s own good”:

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

~C. S. Lewis

And let’s not forget – as frequently described by the Z Man – how for years the media has been on an endless search for Nazis hiding under the bed covers. Social anxiety levels have been on the rise for a long time now for a variety of reasons, but instead of addressing the causes we’ve gone on a snipe hunt for a cartoon villain. When insufficient people volunteered to be the Professional Nazi for the media to lambast, and Donald Trump was no longer the Villain in Chief, the mob was forced to turn in a new direction – this time turning a relatively benign virus into The Great Satan which we Must Renounce.

But the problem with all of this is that there are no Nazis, just people cosplaying as Nazis for the camera. And there is not plague, just a novel, lab-engineered variant of the same old Corona Virus, which doesn’t care about masking rituals or social distancing taboos. And more to the point, even if the vaccines and masks worked, curing Covid-19 wouldn’t address the underlying neuroticism of the average person. Covid-19 isn’t the problem which is causing their madness – attacking it is the panacea which fails to cure the madness which is already there. And going along with their superstitious paranoia won’t help them get better, it will only encourage them in their delusions – and a delusional, hysterical population can wind up performing atrocities if allowed to persist in their insanity.

We’re not going to comply our way out of this. Compliance only encourages them to get worse. Let’s not forget Solzhenitsyn’s words on how easily the great evil of the gulags might have been adverted, if only people had stood up:

And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?… The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if…We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.

~Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn , The Gulag Archipelago 1918–1956

So the question is: aside from general disobedience, how can we resist?

How many of you remember the work of Anonymous Conservative on r/K selection theory, and the psychology of those whose high neuroticism drives them to seek comfort in obedience to the crowd?

The sort of people who suffer from mass formation share a number of psychological traits with narcissists and r-selected rabbit people: they are desperate for group approval. With narcissists in particular, they’re prone to lashing out with lethal violence if they ever feel socially slighted – tread with caution when you’re in the same room as one. But until such time as this war turns kinetic, it’s primarily an information war being waged online. Not that you’re going to convince one of these people with facts and figures that Covid is a nothingburger – again, these people need the virus as an outlet for their inner crazy – and social media loves silencing people who post too many Hate Facts.

What you can do is shift the perception of the social environment which these people have. Or, to put it simply: you Out Group them.

The greatest enemy of tyranny is laughter. Not reason, not anger, but derision. Let these fools with “He/Her” in their twitter bios, and their public demands for lockdown obedience, know how ridiculous you find them. Tell them that nobody support them. Drive them into a frenzy by signalling that they’re part of the outgroup, until they have an absolute mental breakdown in their personal life (far away from yourself, safely shielded from the narcissistic crazy by the Internet).

Trying to calm them down will only embolden them. Telling them they’re a clown will drive them to such explosive levels of anxiety that they discredit their own cause, and become an ineffective soldier for the creeping totalitarianism.

It ain’t nice, but war never is. And the longer you wait before standing your ground, the worse the war is going to be. Best to get it over with.

Matthew 8:22 But Jesus said to him: Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead.

    Good job!

While your suggestion to outgroup the branch covidians is a good one, I see a problem. Thing is, Twitter and all the other big tech social media platforms have been purging all badthinkers from their systems. So most of the people who would take up this fight have already moved on to alternative platforms like Gab. Eventually Twitter will just be a left wing echo chamber where these people just feed off each other. I remember something off Zman’s blog, either it was a comment or a post, about a lib who honestly believes there’s going to be a neon-nazi takeover of the USA and there will be a second holocaust. He was making plans to flee to Canada, of all places.

My biggest concern is that these people so fervently hunting for these scary, invisible nazis will do something stupid and create the monster they fear themselves.

Did I suggest to outgroup the Branch Covidians? I don’t think so. I was trying to get into their minds and forgive them for their foolish initiation into the cult. Hate only the father of the cult.

Don’t be like them and misplace your hatred.

But yes, the initiates are exactly what they hate. It’s very troubling. The Canadian Trucker protest was a powerful message that countered their programming. Some at least.

I think things are falling apart for the cult. The cult started with focusing hated on MAGA, then the unvaxxed, then people who want peace with Russia. 2 minutes of hate loses effectiveness with every new object.
